Part of our Marketing Costs & Pricing guide →
Updated October 2026. In US dentistry, implants are the textbook example of an expensive click. Singapore works differently. We pulled 6,433 healthcare keywords from the Google Ads API and kept the 1,426 that are relevant, non-branded and searched at least 30 times a month. Dental ranks #11 of 15 medical verticals, in the cheaper half. An orthopaedic click costs 4.7× as much. A plastic surgery click costs 3.8× as much.
This index ranks 15 Singapore medical verticals by what it costs to appear at the top of Google. It shows which treatments drive the price, and which searches Google won’t let you buy at all. It’s rebuilt from fresh Keyword Planner data every month. Each vertical has its own page with treatment-level detail.
How this index is built. Every month we pull Google Ads Keyword Planner data through the Google Ads API for Singapore (English, Google Search network). We seed each medical vertical with its core treatment terms, then:
- Collapse close variants. Keyword Planner reports “boob job singapore” and “breast implant singapore” with identical numbers. We count them once.
- Drop navigational searches. Clinic and hospital brand names are excluded, along with anything under 30 searches a month.
- Report the top-of-page bid range (low and high) in SGD. Our headline “CPC” is the volume-weighted high end: what it typically takes to show above the organic results.
- Probe restricted terms by exact match to record where Google withholds data or shows no bids.
Top-of-page bids are Google’s forecasts, not any one clinic’s actual cost per click. Quality Score, ad schedule, device and competition on the day move real CPCs above or below this range. Use the index to compare treatments and verticals, not to set a single bid.

| 10 | Veterinary | S$1.87–S$7.69 | 23,360 | S$30,773 | emergency vet singapore (S$16.10) |
| 11 | Dental | S$1.82–S$6.52 | 77,680 | S$87,371 | dentist harbourfront (S$19.83) |
| 12 | Health Screening | S$1.39–S$5.56 | 17,840 | S$15,223 | mri singapore (S$12.47) |

| 14 | GP & Family Medicine | S$1.33–S$4.58 | 175,690 | S$154,796 | medical centre singapore (S$17.49) |
| 15 | TCM | S$1.29–S$4.04 | 29,880 | S$20,885 | tcm bukit merah (S$11.56) |
Three patterns stand out.
- Surgery is priced on case value, not search volume. Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine (S$30.49) and Plastic Surgery (S$24.70) together get fewer searches than the single keyword “dermatologist singapore” (8,100 a month). They still top the table, because one knee or breast case is worth thousands of dollars to a private practice.
- High-volume verticals are cheap per click and expensive in total. Dental (77,680 searches in September 2026) and GP (175,690) sit near the bottom on CPC. They lead on total value, because the volume is so large.
- The “specialist” premium is real. Every vertical’s most expensive terms name a specialist: “knee specialist”, “gastroenterologist”, “endodontist”, “hair loss doctor”. Patients who search for a specialist are close to booking, and private specialists bid accordingly.
The 25 most expensive medical keywords in Singapore
These are individual keywords with at least 50 searches a month, ranked by the high end of Google’s top-of-page bid range. Clinic and hospital names are excluded, because a branded search is a patient looking for one place, not a category.

This month “hair growth singapore” (Dermatology) tops the list at S$52.22, ahead of “tummy tuck singapore” (S$47.69) and “boob job singapore” (S$45.93). Most of the top 25 have only a few hundred searches a month. Thin volume means a handful of private practices can keep the price high. Self-pay, high-ticket treatments dominate the list. Subsidised and insurance-led services barely appear.
The medical searches you can’t buy
Each month we check 61 core treatment terms by exact match. In October 2026, Keyword Planner returned no data at all for 19 of them, including LASIK, IVF, psychiatrist and even “plastic surgeon singapore”. Other terms show search volume with no bids. “botox singapore” gets 1,000 searches a month, yet no advertiser can bid on it.
| What Keyword Planner showed | Search terms |
|---|---|
| No data at all | veneers singapore, jaw botox singapore, plastic surgeon singapore, rhinoplasty singapore, lasik singapore, relex smile singapore, ivf singapore, iui singapore, sperm test singapore, fibroid treatment singapore, std test singapore, colonoscopy singapore, chiropractor singapore, acne treatment singapore, psychiatrist singapore, psychologist singapore, ent specialist singapore, erectile dysfunction singapore, vasectomy singapore |
| Search volume but no bids | botox singapore (1,000/mo) |
Two separate mechanisms are at work:
- Prescription-only medicines. Botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine. Google’s healthcare and medicines policy doesn’t allow advertisers to promote prescription drugs in Singapore, so the term attracts no bids. Interestingly, the GLP-1 weight-loss brand names do show bids: “ozempic singapore” S$11.34, “wegovy singapore” S$13.62 and “mounjaro singapore” S$14.94. These are most likely telemedicine and clinic advertisers targeting the terms with ads that don’t name the drug.
- Withheld data on sensitive health terms. Google doesn’t publish its reasons, but the withheld list is consistent: fertility treatment, mental health, sexual health, refractive surgery and cosmetic surgery. These are all areas where Google limits targeting on sensitive health topics. Advertisers can often still bid on the keywords. What they can’t do is plan the budget from Keyword Planner.
For a clinic, this is the clearest case for organic search. Where Google won’t show an ad, or won’t tell you what the market looks like, the patients searching for that treatment can only be reached through organic results and the map pack.
What patients type vs what your ads are allowed to say
Singapore’s Healthcare Services (Advertisement) Regulations 2021 ban laudatory statements in the advertising of licensable healthcare services. MOH’s FAQ lists terms likely to be treated as laudatory: best, top [specialty] doctor, leading, number 1, premier, safest, most, state-of-the-art and more. The ban applies “regardless of whether they are factually accurate or not”. MOH also lists “lowest prices”, “as low as” and discount wording as soliciting.

Patients use exactly those words when they search:
| Searcher modifier | Keywords | Searches / mo | Avg high bid | Highest-volume examples |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| “best” | 67 | 6,890 | S$10.43 | best dermatologist singapore, best health screening package singapore, best aesthetic clinic singapore |
| “cheapest / lowest price” | 15 | 2,600 | S$5.64 | cheapest clinic near me, cheapest teleconsult singapore, cheapest braces in singapore |
| “top” | 9 | 620 | S$7.57 | top 10 neurologist in singapore, top 10 dental clinic in singapore, top cardiologist singapore |
Bidding on a keyword like “best dentist singapore” isn’t the problem, since searchers never see your keyword list. The risk is everything that is visible. Dynamic keyword insertion that writes “Best Dentist Singapore” into a headline is a laudatory claim. So are a sitelink reading “Top Gynae”, and a landing page that promises the “lowest price”. MOH’s FAQ also draws a useful line:
SEO is not considered as “advertising” as the process itself does not seek to encourage the consumption of a healthcare service. […] The use of SEM is governed by the HCS (Advertisement) Regulations, as SEM involves paid advertising.
Your website content must still comply. But a page can rank organically for “best gynae singapore” without ever claiming to be the best. Google ranks pages on relevance, authority and reviews written by patients, not by the clinic. Organic search is the only channel where the clinic can rank for “best” searches without saying “best” itself.
Ads vs SEO: what the organic top spot is worth
We estimate what ranking first organically would cost if you bought the same clicks through Google Ads. The estimate assumes the top organic result wins 25% of searches, priced at the midpoint of the top-of-page bid range. Across all 15 verticals the tracked keywords add up to S$502,829 a month in equivalent ad spend. Per vertical:
- Dental: S$87,371/month, the most of any specialty vertical, because of volume.
- Dermatology: S$40,645/month.
- Aesthetic medicine: S$38,529/month, before counting botox searches that ads can’t reach at all.
- Orthopaedics: S$22,393/month from only 3,740 searches.
This is a ceiling, not a forecast. No single clinic ranks first for every keyword. Still, the gap between a clinic’s ad bill and the organic equivalent is usually what pays for a medical SEO programme. In our Harley Street Heart & Vascular Centre engagement, “cardiologist singapore” moved from unranked to position 5. That term is a S$18.08 click in this month’s data. All five commercial targets reached page one within eight months.

What is the most expensive medical keyword in Singapore?
In October 2026, the most expensive medical keyword with 50+ monthly searches is “hair growth singapore” at S$52.22 at the high end of the top-of-page range. It’s followed by “tummy tuck singapore” (S$47.69) and “boob job singapore” (S$45.93). By vertical, Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is the most expensive overall at S$30.49 volume-weighted.
Are dental keywords expensive in Singapore?
Less than most people expect. Dental averages S$6.52 at the high end, which ranks #11 of 15 verticals. The pricier dental terms are clear aligners and specialist searches such as “endodontist singapore” (S$16.97). The broad term “dentist singapore” is S$9.51. See the dental CPC breakdown.
Can clinics advertise botox on Google in Singapore?
Not by naming the drug. Botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine. Google doesn’t allow prescription drug promotion in Singapore ads, which is why “botox singapore” shows 1,000 monthly searches and no bids. Clinics reach those patients through organic content about the treatment, written within MOH’s advertising rules.
Can a clinic use “best” in its Google Ads?
No. Under the HCS (Advertisement) Regulations, laudatory terms such as “best”, “top [specialty] doctor”, “leading” and “number 1” are prohibited in a licensee’s advertising, even if the claim is true. You can bid on a keyword that contains “best”, but keep it out of headlines, descriptions, sitelinks and landing pages, and switch off dynamic keyword insertion on those ad groups.
How often is this index updated?
Monthly. Each update pulls a fresh Keyword Planner snapshot through the Google Ads API, with the same filters every time, so months can be compared directly. The month-on-month section shows which verticals and keywords moved.
