Updated October 2026. Dermatology in Singapore is really two markets that share a keyword list. General skin searches are high-volume and cheap. Hair loss is lower-volume and among the most expensive medical searches in the country. Across 97 deduplicated keywords, the volume-weighted top-of-page bid is S$11.13, ranking #7 of 15 in our Singapore Medical CPC Index. The priciest group this month is Hair loss & hair restoration, at S$20.73.

The figures come straight from the Google Ads API (Keyword Planner, Singapore, English) and are refreshed every month. Below: what each condition costs to advertise, the most expensive searches, seasonality, the terms Google won’t report, and what the HCS (Advertisement) Regulations mean for skin and hair clinics.

Volume-weighted averages across 97 deduplicated keywords. October 2026 snapshot.
Treatment / service Keywords Searches / mo Top-of-page bid (low–high) Most-searched keyword
Hair loss & hair restoration 27 5,060 S$5.68–S$20.73 singapore hair treatment
Dermatologist searches 47 14,370 S$2.44–S$8.68 dermatologist singapore
Mole & wart removal 4 620 S$1.94–S$7.52 wart removal singapore
Eczema 8 960 S$1.42–S$4.58 eczema cream singapore

Why the spread is so wide:

  • Hair loss is a self-pay, long-term market. Hair restoration is usually a course of treatments, or a transplant, paid out of pocket. Patients often search for months before committing. A clinic that wins one patient can earn from them for a year or more, so “hair loss doctor singapore” bids at S$25.00.
  • Doctors are competing with salons. Hair-loss searches are also bid on by non-medical scalp and hair-treatment centres. That extra competition pushes up generic terms like “singapore hair treatment” (S$25.02). Under MOH’s FAQ, those operators can’t advertise medical procedures, but they can and do bid on the same words.
  • General dermatology is high volume and partly subsidised. “dermatologist singapore” gets 8,100 searches a month at S$9.59. Many of those searchers are comparing a subsidised referral to the National Skin Centre with a private specialist. Plenty never book privately, and bids reflect the lower conversion rate.

This month the top of the list is almost entirely hair: “hair growth singapore” at S$52.22, followed by other hair loss, hair clinic and hair specialist searches. Patients searching for a “hair doctor” or “hair loss specialist” are signalling they want a medical answer rather than a shampoo. That makes them valuable, and every hair clinic in Singapore bids on them.

The most expensive dermatology keywords in Singapore — Dermatology Google Ads CPC in Singapore: October 2026 Data

Skin searches are cheaper per click but much larger in total. A clinic that ranks organically for “skin specialist singapore” (720 searches a month) and “dermatologist singapore” captures more patients than most hair-loss ad budgets can buy.

Skin complaints in Singapore don’t follow a strong seasonal pattern. The climate is hot and humid all year, so demand is steadier than in most verticals. Dips around the festive period are the main exception. Hair loss searches are steadier still: it’s a chronic concern, researched over a long period. For dermatology, consistent always-on visibility tends to beat seasonal bursts.

Dermatology searches Google won’t show data for

We check the core dermatology terms by exact match every month:

Dermatology searches Google won't show data for — Dermatology Google Ads CPC in Singapore: October 2026 Data
Search term Keyword Planner, October 2026
dermatologist singapore 8,100 searches, S$2.75–S$9.59
hair transplant singapore 720 searches, S$3.27–S$14.18
acne treatment singapore No data returned

In October 2026, “acne treatment singapore” returned no data from Keyword Planner, even though it’s one of the most common reasons people see a dermatologist. Related acne terms still appear in keyword ideas, so the demand exists. You just can’t size it from Google’s planning tool. For terms like this, your own Search Console impressions are a better guide than Keyword Planner.

What patients search vs what your ads can say

Dermatology and hair clinics run by doctors are HCSA licensees, so their advertising falls under the HCS (Advertisement) Regulations 2021. Patients search with exactly the words those rules ban:

These are the words patients type. Under the HCS (Advertisement) Regulations, a licensee’s ad copy cannot repeat most of them.
Searcher modifier Keywords Searches / mo Avg high bid Examples
“best” 4 1,150 S$10.08 best dermatologist singapore, best hair transplant in singapore, best eczema cream singapore
“top” 1 50 S$6.25 top dermatologist singapore

The rules most relevant to skin and hair clinics:

  • No before-and-after photos in advertising, even with a disclaimer. That includes hair-regrowth comparisons and acne-scar “after” shots. They can be shown in a consultation on the premises.
  • No unjustified expectations. “Regrow your hair in 3 months” or “clear skin in 2 weeks” imply results not every patient will get.
  • No laudatory terms. “Best dermatologist”, “top hair loss specialist” and “most effective treatment” are prohibited in a licensee’s advertising, even if true.
  • No promotional pricing such as “free scalp analysis”, “trial session” or package discounts. Exact prices are allowed.

This puts doctor-led clinics at a disadvantage in ad copy against salons that ignore the rules. But it doesn’t apply to rankings: Google decides who ranks for “best hair loss treatment singapore” organically, based on relevance, authority and patient reviews, not on self-description. MOH’s FAQ confirms SEO “is not considered as ‘advertising’”, while paid search is “governed by the HCS (Advertisement) Regulations”.

Ads vs SEO for a dermatology clinic

If one clinic ranked first organically for every keyword in this dataset, the clicks would be worth roughly S$40,645 a month in equivalent Google Ads spend. Dermatology has one of the largest value-at-stake figures in the index, because the general skin searches are so large.

Ads vs SEO for a dermatology clinic — Dermatology Google Ads CPC in Singapore: October 2026 Data

A practical split:

  • Google Ads for hair loss, if you treat it. The clicks are expensive, but the lifetime value usually justifies a tightly targeted, compliant campaign with a treatment-specific landing page.
  • SEO for general dermatology. Condition pages (eczema, acne, warts, moles), local “dermatologist + area” rankings, and the research questions that precede a booking. This is where most of the volume sits, and where organic rankings cost far less per patient than ads.

Our specialist clinic local SEO case study shows how a multi-branch group took map-pack positions for “specialty + area” searches within healthcare advertising rules.

Methodology

How this index is built. Every month we pull Google Ads Keyword Planner data through the Google Ads API for Singapore (English, Google Search network). We seed each medical vertical with its core treatment terms, then:

  • Collapse close variants. Keyword Planner reports “boob job singapore” and “breast implant singapore” with identical numbers. We count them once.
  • Drop navigational searches. Clinic and hospital brand names are excluded, along with anything under 30 searches a month.
  • Report the top-of-page bid range (low and high) in SGD. Our headline “CPC” is the volume-weighted high end: what it typically takes to show above the organic results.
  • Probe restricted terms by exact match to record where Google withholds data or shows no bids.

Top-of-page bids are Google’s forecasts, not any one clinic’s actual cost per click. Quality Score, ad schedule, device and competition on the day move real CPCs above or below this range. Use the index to compare treatments and verticals, not to set a single bid.

In October 2026, dermatology keywords averaged S$3.05–S$11.13 across Google’s top-of-page bid range, weighted by search volume. The head term “dermatologist singapore” was S$9.59, while the most expensive keyword with 50+ monthly searches was “hair growth singapore” at S$52.22.

Why are hair loss keywords so expensive?

Hair restoration is self-pay, often a long course of treatment or a transplant, and the same searches are contested by doctor-led clinics and non-medical hair centres. High patient value plus extra bidders keeps prices high: the hair loss group averages S$20.73 this month.

Can hair salons advertise hair loss treatment?

Non-licensees can’t advertise medical procedures. MOH’s FAQ says spas are not allowed to advertise medical procedures. Cosmetic hair and scalp services are a separate category, and doctor-led clinics advertising medical hair-loss treatment must follow the HCS (Advertisement) Regulations.

Should a skin clinic invest in SEO or Google Ads?

For general dermatology, SEO usually delivers more patients per dollar because the volume is high and clicks are cheap. For hair loss, ads can pay off if the clinic’s lifetime value per patient is high. See also aesthetic medicine CPCs and our healthcare SEO guide.
