Updated October 2026. GP clinics have the biggest search market in Singapore healthcare and some of the cheapest clicks. The tracked GP keywords drew 175,690 searches in September 2026, more than any other vertical in our Singapore Medical CPC Index. Yet the volume-weighted top-of-page bid is just S$4.58, ranking #14 of 15 verticals. Cheap clicks at that volume add up: GP has the largest organic value-at-stake in the index.

The data comes straight from the Google Ads API (Keyword Planner, Singapore, English) and is refreshed every month. Below: what each type of GP search costs, where the expensive clicks are, the weight-loss drug searches, and the specific MOH rules that catch GP ads out.

GP CPC by search type

Keywords grouped by what the patient wants, with bids weighted by search volume.

Volume-weighted averages across 155 deduplicated keywords. October 2026 snapshot.
Treatment / service Keywords Searches / mo Top-of-page bid (low–high) Most-searched keyword
Weight-loss clinics 4 330 S$4.72–S$15.73 weight loss clinic singapore
GP & family clinics 24 7,800 S$1.54–S$5.44 nearest clinic
"Near me" clinic searches 49 164,540 S$1.39–S$4.65 clinic near me
Travel vaccinations 7 2,390 S$0.54–S$4.37 singapore vaccinated
24-hour & after-hours clinics 62 30,950 S$0.99–S$3.85 24 clinic near me
House calls & telemedicine 7 3,270 S$0.84–S$3.83 teleconsult singapore

What drives the order:

  • Self-pay services cost the most. This month’s priciest group is Weight-loss clinics at S$15.73. “weight loss clinic singapore” sits at S$15.55. Weight management is self-paid, often runs over months and involves repeat consultations. That’s a very different economic picture from a single acute visit.
  • “Near me” is huge and cheap. “clinic near me” alone has 135,000 searches a month at S$4.53 at the high end. The patient wants the closest open clinic, now. Google answers that with the map pack, and the clinic that wins is the one with the closest, best-maintained Google Business Profile, not the highest bid.
  • Subsidised and low-fee services stay cheap. Telemedicine (“teleconsult singapore” S$4.06), house calls and travel vaccinations are price-competitive, and advertisers don’t bid much for them.

The most expensive GP keywords in Singapore

Keywords with 50+ monthly searches in Singapore, ranked by high top-of-page bid. October 2026.
Keyword Searches / mo Low bid High bid Competition
medical centre singapore 260 S$2.92 S$17.49 Medium
slimming clinic singapore 50 S$5.03 S$17.20 High
weight loss clinic singapore 170 S$4.73 S$15.55 High
weight management clinic singapore 70 S$4.56 S$15.09 High
government clinic near me 110 S$1.49 S$12.35 Medium
men's clinic near me 50 S$4.26 S$12.13 High
gp clinic singapore 260 S$2.02 S$11.86 Medium
doctor clinic near me 320 S$2.02 S$10.28 High
clinics near me open today 140 S$1.50 S$10.09 Medium
health clinic near me 170 S$1.97 S$10.06 High
medical centre near me 260 S$2.39 S$9.58 High
private clinic near me 320 S$1.70 S$9.46 High
doctor near me open 170 S$1.61 S$9.26 Medium
female clinic near me 1,900 S$2.28 S$8.41 High
best clinic near me 90 S$1.63 S$8.17 High

The top of the list rewards specificity. “medical centre singapore” and “gp clinic singapore” (S$11.86) get far fewer searches than “clinic near me” but cost more per click. Someone typing “gp clinic” is choosing a regular practice, with all the repeat visits that come with it. The “near me” variants with a qualifier (“private clinic near me”, “clinics near me open today”) also sit higher. The qualifier tells the advertiser what the patient wants.

The weight-loss drug searches

Every month we also check the GLP-1 brand names by exact match:

Search term Keyword Planner, October 2026
ozempic singapore 2,400 searches, S$2.55–S$11.34
wegovy singapore 1,300 searches, S$3.14–S$13.62
mounjaro singapore 2,400 searches, S$4.44–S$14.94
erectile dysfunction singapore No data returned
circumcision singapore 720 searches, S$2.36–S$9.18
vasectomy singapore No data returned

“ozempic singapore” (2,400 searches, S$11.34), “wegovy singapore” (S$13.62) and “mounjaro singapore” (S$14.94) all show active bids. That’s notable, because Google doesn’t let advertisers promote prescription drugs in Singapore ads. The likely explanation is clinics and telemedicine providers bidding on the drug names with ads that talk about weight management rather than the medicine itself. We can’t see who is bidding. Either way, the ad copy and the landing page are where the compliance risk sits: prescription drug names have no place in either. Several sexual-health terms (“erectile dysfunction singapore”, “vasectomy singapore”) returned no data at all.

What patients search vs what GP ads can say

GP clinics are licensees under the Healthcare Services Act. Their ads fall under the HCS (Advertisement) Regulations, including the ban on laudatory terms such as “best”, “top” and “leading”. Patients search with them anyway:

What patients search vs what GP ads can say — GP Clinic Google Ads CPC in Singapore: October 2026 Data
These are the words patients type. Under the HCS (Advertisement) Regulations, a licensee’s ad copy cannot repeat most of them.
Searcher modifier Keywords Searches / mo Avg high bid Examples
“best” 2 120 S$7.50 best clinic near me, best telemedicine singapore
“cheapest / lowest price” 3 1,250 S$3.82 cheapest clinic near me, cheapest teleconsult singapore, cheapest doctor near me

Price-led searches (“cheapest clinic near me”, “cheapest teleconsult”) are where GP ads most often go wrong. MOH’s November 2024 FAQ update added three rules that read as if they were written for GP and telemedicine advertising:

  • No MC advertising. Licensees can’t mention or reference medical certificates where it could be read as advertising the chance of getting one. That includes “sick leave”, “medical leave” and “medical excuse”. MOH’s own examples of improper ads: “Get MC for as little as $10”, “Get sick leave MC from the comfort of your couch”, “MC in 1 minute!” and “Medical Consultation from $10”.
  • No unrealistic consult times. Teleconsultation providers can’t claim or imply that a consult will be completed within a specified time if that would be inaccurate or misleading.
  • No comparisons, even unnamed. MOH gives the example of a clinic advertising that it doesn’t do “one-second consults” after a competitor appeared in the news. That counts as comparing itself with another licensee, even without naming it.

The general rules apply too. No “as low as” or “lowest price” wording, no discounts or “free” offers, and no reproduced testimonials. GP ads should list services, opening hours, location and exact fees, and nothing more promotional than that.

Ads vs SEO for a GP clinic

If one clinic ranked first organically for every keyword in this dataset, the clicks would be worth roughly S$154,796 a month in equivalent Google Ads spend. That’s the largest figure of any vertical in the index. For GPs, most of that value runs through local search.

  • Local SEO first. A complete, accurate Google Business Profile with correct opening hours (including public holidays), services, photos and organic patient reviews. Add a location page for each branch. This is what wins “clinic near me” and “24 hour clinic near me” (8,100 searches a month).
  • Google Ads for self-pay services. Weight management, men’s health and health screening, where the patient value supports the click cost and the copy can stay factual.

Our clinic local SEO case study took a four-branch group into the map pack for every location within six months, with profile actions (calls, directions, bookings) up more than 3× year on year.

Methodology

How this index is built. Every month we pull Google Ads Keyword Planner data through the Google Ads API for Singapore (English, Google Search network). We seed each medical vertical with its core treatment terms, then:

  • Collapse close variants. Keyword Planner reports “boob job singapore” and “breast implant singapore” with identical numbers. We count them once.
  • Drop navigational searches. Clinic and hospital brand names are excluded, along with anything under 30 searches a month.
  • Report the top-of-page bid range (low and high) in SGD. Our headline “CPC” is the volume-weighted high end: what it typically takes to show above the organic results.
  • Probe restricted terms by exact match to record where Google withholds data or shows no bids.

Top-of-page bids are Google’s forecasts, not any one clinic’s actual cost per click. Quality Score, ad schedule, device and competition on the day move real CPCs above or below this range. Use the index to compare treatments and verticals, not to set a single bid.

No. MOH’s FAQ on the HCS (Advertisement) Regulations says licensees must not mention or reference MCs in a way that could be read as advertising the chance of getting one. That includes terms like “sick leave” and “medical leave”. “MC in 1 minute!” and “Get MC for as little as $10” are MOH’s own examples of improper ads.

Can clinics advertise Ozempic or Mounjaro on Google?

Not by name. Google doesn’t allow prescription drug promotion in Singapore ads, and promoting a prescription medicine to the public raises separate legal issues. The bids on those drug-name searches most likely come from clinics advertising weight-management consultations with drug-free copy.

Is local SEO or Google Ads better for a GP clinic?

Local SEO, for most clinics. The bulk of GP demand is “near me” and estate-level searches, and Google answers those with the map pack. Ads work best for self-pay services. See also our guides to clinic marketing in Singapore and Google Ads for doctors.
