Updated October 2026. Oncology is the one medical vertical where Google’s own planning tool is most silent. “oncologist singapore” and “cancer specialist singapore” return no search volume or bid data at all from Keyword Planner. The searches that do carry data, 15 deduplicated keywords in all, average S$9.74 at the top of Google’s bid range. That ranks oncology #11 of the 20 verticals in our Singapore Medical CPC Index.

The data comes straight from the Google Ads API (Keyword Planner, Singapore, English) and is refreshed every month by Marketing Agency Singapore. Most of what Google does report is about screening and tests rather than treatment. Below: what each type of search costs, the most expensive individual terms, how demand moves, and what cancer care providers can and can’t say in their advertising.

Oncology CPC by search type

Keywords grouped by cancer type or service, with bids weighted by search volume. Several groups rest on only one or two keywords, so read them as direction, not precise benchmarks.

Volume-weighted averages across 15 deduplicated keywords. October 2026 snapshot.
Treatment / service Keywords Searches / mo Top-of-page bid (low–high) Most-searched keyword
Prostate & urological cancer 2 130 S$2.91–S$21.60 prostate cancer screening singapore
GI & liver cancer 1 210 S$4.09–S$15.41 colon cancer screening singapore
Breast cancer 2 660 S$1.82–S$15.36 breast cancer test singapore
Lung cancer 3 190 S$2.21–S$7.69 lung cancer screening singapore
Cancer screening & tests 4 670 S$1.02–S$4.92 cancer check up singapore
Chemotherapy, radiotherapy & proton 3 400 S$1.40–S$2.71 proton therapy singapore

Three things shape these numbers:

  • Screening is the commercial search. Patients who search “breast cancer test singapore” (S$14.99) or “colon cancer screening singapore” (S$15.41) are often well people booking a check. Health-screening providers, imaging centres and specialist clinics all compete for them.
  • Treatment searches are rare and sensitive. Someone facing a cancer diagnosis is usually referred by a doctor rather than searching for a provider. The treatment terms Google does report, such as “proton therapy singapore” (S$2.55), carry low bids relative to their seriousness.
  • Specific cancers attract specialist bidders. “breast cancer specialist singapore” (S$18.49) and “prostate cancer screening singapore” (S$26.59) are low-volume but priced like specialist terms, because a single patient relationship is long and complex.

The most expensive oncology keywords in Singapore

Keywords with 50+ monthly searches in Singapore, ranked by high top-of-page bid. October 2026.
Keyword Searches / mo Low bid High bid Competition
prostate cancer screening singapore 90 S$3.31 S$26.59 Low
breast cancer specialist singapore 70 S$4.47 S$18.49 High
colon cancer screening singapore 210 S$4.09 S$15.41 Medium
breast cancer test singapore 590 S$1.51 S$14.99 Medium
lung cancer specialist singapore 50 S$4.11 S$10.92 High
lung cancer screening singapore 70 S$1.78 S$8.04 Medium
cancer check up singapore 320 S$1.52 S$6.51 Medium
free cancer screening singapore 50 S$0.49 S$5.06 High
lung cancer singapore 70 S$1.29 S$5.03 Low
cancer marker test singapore 90 S$1.07 S$4.23 Medium
chemotherapy cost singapore 110 S$1.45 S$3.17 Medium
cervical cancer screening singapore 210 S$0.37 S$2.76 Low
proton therapy singapore 260 S$1.37 S$2.55 Medium

Almost every keyword in the table is about screening, testing or finding a specialist for a specific cancer. Very few are about the treatment itself. That matches how patients actually move through cancer care in Singapore: they search when they’re worried or due for a check, and they’re referred once there’s a diagnosis.

Price-led searches appear too, such as “chemotherapy cost singapore” (S$3.17) and “free cancer screening singapore” (S$5.06). These are people trying to understand what care will cost, and the best answer to them is clear, factual information rather than an ad.

Total monthly searches for the tracked oncology keywords. Peak: March 2026 (3,100); low: August 2026 (2,010).

Oncology demand is steadier than most of the index. Peaks tend to line up with awareness campaigns and screening drives rather than holidays. A provider’s content should be ready for those moments, with accurate screening and test pages in place well before them.

Oncology searches Google won’t show data for

We check the core oncology terms by exact match every month:

Oncology searches Google won't show data for — Oncology Google Ads CPC in Singapore: October 2026 Data
Search term Keyword Planner, October 2026
oncologist singapore No data returned
cancer specialist singapore No data returned
chemotherapy singapore 30 searches, S$1.46–S$2.36
proton therapy singapore 260 searches, S$1.37–S$2.55

The two most obvious searches in the specialty, “oncologist singapore” and “cancer specialist singapore”, return no data at all. Google doesn’t explain why, but the gap is consistent with how it limits planning data on sensitive health topics. Advertisers can still bid on these terms; they just can’t size or price them from Keyword Planner. For cancer centres, organic rankings and Search Console data from their own condition pages are the only reliable picture of this demand.

What patients search vs what your oncology ads can say

Cancer care providers licensed under the Healthcare Services Act advertise under the HCS (Advertisement) Regulations 2021 and the Singapore Medical Council’s ethical code. In oncology, the rules match what patients need anyway: calm, factual information.

  • No outcome or survival claims that create unjustified expectations. Every claim has to be factually accurate and capable of being substantiated, and MOH’s guidance points to credible, peer-reviewed sources.
  • No laudatory terms. “Leading cancer centre”, “most advanced technology”, “state-of-the-art” and “centre of excellence” all appear on MOH’s list of terms likely to be treated as laudatory, and they’re prohibited even when true.
  • No testimonials in ads. Patient stories can’t be reproduced in advertising, and reviews can’t be solicited or incentivised.
  • No promotions. Discounted screening packages, “free” add-ons and “from $X” pricing count as soliciting. Exact prices with no prefix are allowed.
  • National screening schemes are treated differently. MOH’s FAQ lists publicity for government-administered schemes, such as Screen for Life, among the examples exempted from the Regulations, provided it is factually accurate and not misleading. That covers publicising the national scheme, not a clinic’s own packages.

MOH’s FAQ also says SEO “is not considered as advertising”, while SEM is governed by the regulations. For oncology, organic content is where providers can do the most good: plain-language explanations of screening, tests and what to expect after a referral.

Ads vs SEO for cancer care providers

If one provider ranked first organically for every keyword in this dataset, the clicks would be worth roughly S$3,266 a month in equivalent Google Ads spend. That figure leaves out the largest searches in the specialty, which Keyword Planner doesn’t report at all.

Ads vs SEO for cancer care providers — Oncology Google Ads CPC in Singapore: October 2026 Data

A practical split for most oncology and screening providers:

  • Google Ads for screening and tests, sent to factual pages that explain who the test is for, what it involves and its exact price.
  • SEO for everything else: specialist profiles, cancer-type pages and treatment explainers, written to E-E-A-T standards and reviewed by the treating doctors.

The highest single-keyword forecast is “breast cancer specialist singapore” at S$25.34. Forecast CPCs run above today’s top-of-page range because they model an advertiser who outbids the field for the top position.

Methodology

How this index is built. Every month we pull Google Ads Keyword Planner data through the Google Ads API for Singapore (English, Google Search network). We seed each medical vertical with its core treatment terms, then:

  • Collapse close variants. Keyword Planner reports “boob job singapore” and “breast implant singapore” with identical numbers. We count them once.
  • Drop navigational searches. Clinic and hospital brand names are excluded, along with anything under 30 searches a month.
  • Report the top-of-page bid range (low and high) in SGD. Our headline “CPC” is the volume-weighted high end: what it typically takes to show above the organic results.
  • Probe restricted terms by exact match to record where Google withholds data or gives no bid estimate.

Top-of-page bids are Google’s forecasts, not any one clinic’s actual cost per click. Quality Score, ad schedule, device and competition on the day move real CPCs above or below this range. Use the index to compare treatments and verticals, not to set a single bid.
