Updated October 2026. Fitness is a high-volume, low-cost category on Google in Singapore. Across 394 deduplicated keywords, the volume-weighted top-of-page bid is S$5.26, ranking #17 of 22 industries in Marketing Agency Singapore’s Singapore Google Ads CPC Index. The average hides a clear split. Combat sports and personal training command real bids. Pilates and yoga, despite big search volumes, are among the cheapest clicks in the index.
Data comes from the Google Ads API (Keyword Planner, Singapore, English), refreshed monthly. Below: cost by discipline, the priciest searches, the January surge, and the rules on weight-loss claims and memberships.

Fitness CPC by discipline
Keywords grouped by discipline, with bids weighted by search volume.
| Treatment / service | Keywords | Searches / mo | Top-of-page bid (low–high) | Most-searched keyword |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Boxing & martial arts | 42 | 9,470 | S$0.77–S$10.53 | muay thai singapore |
| Personal training | 14 | 3,370 | S$2.27–S$7.64 | best personal trainer singapore |
| Classes (spin, HIIT, CrossFit) | 6 | 1,950 | S$0.99–S$5.38 | spin class singapore |
| Gyms & memberships | 225 | 124,820 | S$0.90–S$5.17 | personal training gym singapore |
| Pilates | 84 | 18,900 | S$0.85–S$3.25 | pilates singapore |
| Yoga | 23 | 3,720 | S$0.73–S$2.86 | yoga studio singapore |
Three things drive the order:
- Member value. A Muay Thai or boxing student signing up for a class pack, or a client buying a block of PT sessions, is worth more upfront than a casual gym-goer. “muay thai singapore” bids S$12.67 at the high end and “personal trainer singapore” S$7.50.
- Pilates’ saturation. “pilates singapore” gets 4,400 searches a month but bids only S$3.06. The reformer boom brought many studios at once. Most of them fill classes through booking apps, ClassPass-style platforms and social media rather than search.
- Brand-led gym searches. A large share of gym volume is people looking up a specific chain or a gym near home. Those navigational searches are excluded from this index, and the generic terms that remain are less contested.
The most expensive fitness keywords in Singapore
| Keyword | Searches / mo | Low bid | High bid | Competition |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| mma gyms singapore | 720 | S$0.59 | S$13.13 | High |
| boxing classes singapore | 880 | S$1.18 | S$12.93 | High |
| boon lay gym | 90 | S$0.94 | S$12.69 | Medium |
| muay thai singapore | 2,400 | S$0.62 | S$12.67 | Medium |
| muay thai gym singapore | 1,000 | S$0.59 | S$12.04 | Medium |
| yishun stadium gym | 90 | S$1.34 | S$11.56 | Low |
| yck gym | 90 | S$4.27 | S$11.18 | Low |
| personal trainer for weight loss singapore | 70 | S$3.38 | S$10.92 | Medium |
| boxing gym singapore | 1,300 | S$1.15 | S$10.72 | High |
| pilates singapore tampines | 590 | S$0.73 | S$10.70 | High |
| boxing club singapore | 70 | S$1.14 | S$10.68 | High |
| bjj gyms in singapore | 210 | S$0.66 | S$10.53 | High |
| jurong east active sg gym | 3,600 | S$0.08 | S$10.51 | Low |
Combat sports dominate the top of the table: Muay Thai lessons, MMA gyms and boxing classes. Estate-level gym searches (“boon lay gym”, “yishun stadium gym”) appear too. They are cheap per click but highly local, so a gym within walking distance converts them well.

Fitness search demand by month
Total monthly searches for the tracked fitness & gyms keywords. Peak: January 2026 (252,430); low: October 2025 (139,960).
Fitness has one of the clearest seasonal patterns in the index. Searches typically jump in January with New Year resolutions, ease after Chinese New Year, and rise again mid-year. If you run ads, protect budget for January. If you’re investing in SEO, have membership, pricing and trial pages ranking by December.
What people search vs what your ads can say
| Searcher modifier | Keywords | Searches / mo | Avg high bid | Examples |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| “best” | 14 | 3,240 | S$8.06 | best personal trainer singapore, best gym in singapore, best pilates studio singapore |
| “top” | 1 | 110 | S$4.38 | top gyms in singapore |
| “cheapest / lowest price” | 2 | 330 | S$4.11 | cheapest gym membership singapore, cheapest boxing gym in singapore |
| “most” | 1 | 90 | S$2.69 | most expensive gym singapore |
| “premier / premium” | 1 | 40 | S$2.74 | premium gym singapore |
Gyms can say “best” or “premium” if they can back it up; the ASAS code requires factual claims to be capable of substantiation. The firmer limits are about health and money:

- No treating or curing. MOH’s December 2023 statement lists fitness centres among entities outside the Healthcare Services Act that “are prohibited from making claims to treat or cure diseases or medical conditions in their advertisements”. “Sports massage for muscle recovery” is fine. “Rehab for slipped disc” or “cure back pain” is not.
- Weight-loss claims. The SCAP’s slimming appendix accepts exercise-based weight-loss claims only where the loss is clearly the result of calories used in exercise. It says exercise improves muscle tone only slowly, so ads “should not suggest dramatic improvements over short periods”. Google’s unreliable-claims policy separately disallows unrealistic weight loss within a specific time frame. “Lose 10kg in 30 days” fails both.
- Transformation photos. Testimonials must be genuine and typical: the SCAP rejects exceptional experiences as if they were normal. Google requires a visible “results vary” style disclaimer on testimonials that claim specific results, and bans misleading before-and-after images on YouTube and Discover.
- Memberships. For-profit club memberships count as “services” under the CPFTA. Its Second Schedule makes it an unfair practice to hide material terms in small print (item 23), exert undue pressure to sign (item 14), use unconscionable terms (item 13) or take payment you can’t deliver against (item 24). “$1 a day” headlines that leave out the joining fee or lock-in also run into CCS’s drip-pricing guidance.
Free trials are allowed. CCS encourages operators to notify customers before a trial ends and explain any charges that follow. This is a practical summary, not legal advice.
Ads vs SEO for gyms and studios
If one operator ranked first organically for every keyword here, the clicks would be worth roughly S$125,132 a month in equivalent ad spend. Because pilates, yoga and generic gym clicks are so cheap, many studios rely on paid search alone. The better long-term asset is a local SEO base: one page per outlet, class and pricing pages, and genuine reviews. Use paid budget for the higher-value disciplines and the January surge.

The highest single-keyword forecast is “muay thai singapore” at S$21.13. Forecast CPCs run above today’s top-of-page range because they model an advertiser who outbids the field for the top position.

Methodology
How this index is built. Every month we pull Google Ads Keyword Planner data through the Google Ads API for Singapore (English, Google Search network). We seed each industry with its core service terms, then:
- Collapse close variants. Keyword Planner often reports close variants (singular and plural, reordered words) with identical numbers. We count them once.
- Drop navigational searches. Brand and company names are excluded, along with anything under 30 searches a month.
- Report the top-of-page bid range (low and high) in SGD. Our headline “CPC” is the volume-weighted high end: what it typically takes to show above the organic results.
- Probe restricted terms by exact match to record where Google withholds data or gives no bid estimate.
Top-of-page bids are Google’s forecasts, not any one advertiser’s actual cost per click. Quality Score, ad schedule, device and competition on the day move real CPCs above or below this range. Use the index to compare services and industries, not to set a single bid.
