Last updated: October 2026. The EDGE Grant opened on 30 September 2026, replacing PSG, EDG and MRA. If you have applied for PSG on the Business Grants Portal before, the process will look familiar, but a few rules have changed. This guide walks through an EDGE application from start to claim, and covers the mistakes that lead to rejected applications and claims.
Everything here comes from Enterprise Singapore’s EDGE Grant FAQ and its activity pages, such as the single-function digital solutions page. Requirements vary by activity, so always read the page for the activity you’re applying for.
Dated note, October 2026: New applications under PSG, EDG and MRA closed on 29 September 2026. Projects already submitted under those schemes continue, and their claims are still filed on the Business Grants Portal.

Before You Apply: Five Checks
- Is your company eligible? You must be a business entity registered in Singapore with at least 30% ownership by Singaporeans and/or Singapore PRs. Non-profits, societies, religious entities, voluntary welfare organisations and government bodies are rejected. Individual activities can add conditions, such as not being home-based.
- Which activity fits? EDGE covers 8 business areas and over 150 activities. Find yours on Enterprise Singapore’s EDGE page or with the BizSG recommender. Each activity has its own page with support levels, caps and an “Apply now” link. If nothing fits, Enterprise Singapore suggests speaking to an SME Centre.
- How much cap do you have left? Each company gets up to S$100,000 a year (1 April to 31 March) across all activities. Within that, up to S$30,000 can go on single-function digital solutions, integrated systems and pre-scoped equipment. You can check your remaining balance on the Business Grants Portal.
- Have you started already? If you have started work or made any payment or deposit to a vendor, the application counts as retrospective and won’t be supported.
- Who will submit? Only your own staff with the BGP Preparer or BGP Acceptor role, assigned by your company’s Corppass administrator, can submit. Vendors, consultants and corporate secretaries can’t apply on your behalf.
Step-by-Step: Applying on the Business Grants Portal
The exact steps depend on the activity. This is the sequence Enterprise Singapore sets out for single-function digital solutions, which is the most common route for SMEs. Other activities follow the same shape.

- Prepare your documents. Check the “Application documents and information required” section on your activity page.
- Choose a vendor. For digital solutions, use the pre-approved vendors on IMDA SMEs Go Digital. For activities without a pre-approved list, you can choose your own vendor, as long as they meet the activity’s requirements.
- Get a quotation.
- Build the solution package on SMEs Go Digital (digital solutions only), matching the quotation exactly.
- Confirm the package through Corppass to generate a package reference ID.
- Apply on the Business Grants Portal, signing in with your company’s Corppass. If you don’t have a Corppass account, set one up first.
- Accept the Letter of Offer if you’re approved. It sets the grant amount, the project qualifying period, the deliverables and the conditions.
Once you’ve submitted, you may buy the solution before approval comes through. Payments made after submission may be supported if the application is approved, but you carry the risk if it isn’t.
Documents and Quotations
Required documents vary by activity. The FAQ confirms there is no blanket rule requiring three quotations: “The documents required for assessment vary depending on the activity selected.” Common requirements include:
- a vendor quotation, or a solution package reference ID for digital solutions
- a projection of the project’s expected benefits, such as cost savings, for some activities
- for overseas business development staff, the employment letter, or a job description if you haven’t hired yet
- for consultancy-type projects, details of the consultant. For standards projects, the consultant needs SS 680 certification and must be named upfront.
Do your own checks on the vendor. Enterprise Singapore reminds businesses to “exercise due diligence when assessing vendor suitability”.
How Long It Takes
Processing time varies by activity and is shown on each activity page. Some examples from the official material:

- A pre-approved single-function solution page we reviewed showed an application outcome in 1 week.
- Integrated ERP takes about 1 week with a pre-approved vendor and 10 weeks with your own vendor.
- Project periods are set per activity. The digital solution page we checked required completion within 18 months of approval.
After Approval: Changes and Deliverables
Once the project starts, only two types of change are allowed: a change to the project end date and a change to the claim due date. Both need approval, and change requests open from 1 November 2026. Plan scope carefully at the start, because the scope in the Letter of Offer is what you will be paid against.
Keep evidence of every deliverable listed in the Letter of Offer as you go. For digital solutions, that includes a photo showing the deployed software and its unique identifier, such as a licence number, user ID or user email. You’ll enter the identifier when you claim.
If you terminate an approved project without claiming, the grant amount goes back to your annual cap for the year it was approved. Expenses on terminated projects can’t be claimed.
Submitting Your Claim
EDGE pays on a reimbursement basis, with no cash advances, and it accepts only a single and final claim. Additional claims are not allowed, so make sure every cost is in before you submit.
- Set up payment. Register PayNow Corporate against your UEN; Enterprise Singapore says disbursement is made within 14 working days of claim approval. GIRO is also accepted but can take up to eight weeks. Without either, the grant can’t be paid.
- Pay in full first. All project expenses must be fully paid before you claim, and only expenses approved in the Letter of Offer count.
- Gather the evidence. You need deliverables documentation and proof of payment. If someone else paid, include proof you reimbursed them. Translate any foreign-language documents into English.
- Submit on the Business Grants Portal before the claim due date. Respond quickly if more documents are requested. Eligibility criteria still apply until you claim.
For portal problems, the BGP helpdesk is at go.gov.sg/bgphelpdesk, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm, excluding public holidays.
Why Applications Get Rejected
The FAQ points to a handful of reasons:

- The project has already started. Starting work, or paying a vendor before submission, makes it retrospective.
- It isn’t aligned with EDGE’s intent. Projects that don’t fit an EDGE activity aren’t supported.
- The entity isn’t eligible. For example, it fails the 30% local ownership test, or is a non-profit or government-linked body.
- Double funding. The same expenses were already approved under another Enterprise Singapore or government grant.
- The cap is used up. Once your S$100,000 annual cap (or the S$30,000 digital sub-cap) is exhausted, you have to wait until it resets on 1 April.
If you were rejected before, Enterprise Singapore suggests working out why before reapplying, and offers advice through its SME Centres.
We work with pre-approved vendors and help clients scope marketing, digital and overseas projects so the application is ready to submit. The application itself must still come from you. Frequently Asked Questions
How do I apply for the EDGE Grant?
Find the right activity on Enterprise Singapore’s EDGE page or BizSG, prepare the documents listed on that activity page, get a vendor quotation, then apply on the Business Grants Portal through your company’s Corppass account. You can’t start the project or pay a deposit before you submit.
Who in my company can submit the application?
Any staff member your Corppass administrator has given the BGP Preparer or BGP Acceptor role. Third parties, including vendors and corporate secretaries, can’t submit applications, change requests or claims for you.
Do I need three quotations for EDGE?
Not as a blanket rule. Document requirements vary by activity, so check your activity page. For single-function digital solutions, the key document is the vendor quotation, matched to a package on IMDA SMEs Go Digital.
How long does EDGE approval take?
It varies by activity and is shown on each activity page. Pre-approved digital solutions can come back in about a week. Integrated ERP with your own vendor takes about 10 weeks.
Can I make more than one claim?
No. EDGE accepts only a single, final claim after the project is complete and fully paid. The approved amount is final.
How is the EDGE grant paid out?
By reimbursement into your company’s bank account, via PayNow Corporate (within 14 working days of claim approval) or GIRO (up to eight weeks).
