Updated October 2026. Tuition is one of the strangest markets in our Singapore Google Ads CPC Index. Across 180 deduplicated keywords, the volume-weighted top-of-page bid is S$56.92, which ranks tuition #1 of the 22 industries we track. But the median keyword costs only S$11.13. One search explains most of that gap: Google Ads Keyword Planner reports “math tuition singapore” at 60,500 searches a month with a high top-of-page bid of S$75.11.

This page is built from Google Ads API data (Keyword Planner, Singapore, English) by Marketing Agency Singapore and refreshed every month. Below: what each subject costs to advertise, the most expensive searches, when parents search, and what the Education Act and MOE allow tuition centres to say in their ads.

Tuition CPC by subject

Keywords grouped by subject and format, with bids weighted by search volume. Volume weighting is the right way to answer “what does a typical tuition click cost”, but it also means a single very large keyword can pull the whole average.

Three things are worth knowing before you read too much into the ranking:

  • One keyword carries the average. Google’s estimate of 60,500 monthly searches for “math tuition singapore” dwarfs every other tuition term. Treat it as Google’s estimate rather than an audited count. Because the headline figure weights each keyword by its searches, that one term sets most of the S$56.92 figure. The median of S$11.13 is a better guide to what most tuition searches cost.
  • Upper-secondary and JC science is genuinely expensive. “o level physics tuition singapore” reaches S$101.56 and “jc physics tuition singapore” S$86.72 at the high end, on only a few hundred searches each. These are high-fee, exam-year students, and a small number of specialist centres compete for them.
  • Language tuition is cheaper. The priciest subject group this month is Maths, at S$69.52. Language terms such as “english tuition singapore” (S$11.25) and “chinese tuition singapore” (S$12.59) sit well below the science terms.

chinese home tutor singapore 70 S$7.40 S$18.59 Medium
best primary math tuition singapore 590 S$3.58 S$18.54 Low

The top of the list is dominated by exam-level science and maths: O-level physics, JC physics and H2 chemistry. Parents searching these terms usually have a specific exam in sight and a budget to match. Below them come location searches such as “math tuition tampines”. Most tuition is local, and centres bid hard for the estates around them.

The most expensive tuition keywords in Singapore — Tuition Google Ads CPC in Singapore: October 2026 Data

“tuition centre singapore” itself is far cheaper at S$9.06, with 1,900 searches a month. It is the generic, comparison-stage search: a parent who hasn’t decided on subject or level yet.

Tuition demand moves with the school calendar rather than staying flat. It is worth planning budgets around the peaks shown above rather than spending evenly across the year. For SEO, subject and level pages should be published and indexed a few months before the peak months, so they are ranking when parents start comparing centres.

What parents search vs what your tuition ads can say

Parents search with superlatives. Tuition centres need to be careful about echoing them.

These are the words customers type. Check the advertising rules below before repeating them in ad copy.
Searcher modifier Keywords Searches / mo Avg high bid Examples

Unlike clinics, tuition centres don’t have a dedicated advertising code. The rules come from registration law, consumer-protection law and Google’s own policies. The points below are taken from primary sources:

  • Registration wording. Centres teaching 10 or more students must register with MOE, including tuition and enrichment centres teaching mainstream subjects. MOE’s guidance on registering a private school says that if you state your registration status, you “should only use the term ‘Registered with the Ministry of Education’”. “MOE-approved”, “MOE-accredited” or using the MOE logo are not that wording.
  • “Academy”, “college”, “school” and “university”. Under section 4A of the Education Act 1957, nobody may use these words, or words indicating that they provide education, in a name, description or advertisement without the Director-General’s written consent. Registered schools are exempt. The penalty is a fine of up to S$2,000, up to 12 months’ imprisonment, or both. An unregistered home-tutoring brand calling itself “X Academy” in its ads is exposed.
  • The Private Education Act usually doesn’t apply. The Private Education Act 2009 covers degree and diploma courses and full-time programmes, including full-time exam preparation. Its false-advertising offence (section 19) only matters if you run that kind of full-time course. Ordinary after-school tuition falls under MOE instead.
  • Results claims need evidence. Parents are consumers, so the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act applies: a false claim is an unfair practice. The ASAS advertising code requires factual claims to be capable of substantiation, and says testimonials describing exceptional experiences shouldn’t be used. “Guaranteed A1” or “100% distinction rate” without full cohort data fails both tests.
  • Google’s own rules. Google’s unreliable claims policy requires a clear refund policy if you guarantee results, and a visible “results vary” disclaimer on testimonials that claim specific results. Google also doesn’t serve personalised ads to users under 18, so target parents rather than students.

This is a summary for marketers, not legal advice. Check the source wording, or with a lawyer, before running a specific claim.

Ads vs SEO for a tuition centre

If one centre ranked first organically for every tuition keyword we track, the clicks would be worth roughly S$676,105 a month in equivalent Google Ads spend. That figure is inflated by the same giant maths keyword, but even the long tail of subject, level and estate searches adds up to real money.

A practical split for most centres:

  • Google Ads for exam-year, high-fee programmes. O-level, A-level and IB science and maths, geo-targeted around your branches, with factual results claims and a landing page per subject and level.
  • SEO for subject-plus-estate searches. Pages for “maths tuition [estate]” and “chemistry tuition [level]” are cheap to rank for compared with what they cost to buy, and they capture parents early in the year.

Forecast CPCs run above today’s top-of-page range because they model an advertiser who outbids the field for the top position.

Month-on-month changes

October 2026 is the first snapshot of this index. From next month this section shows which keywords got more or less expensive.

Methodology

How this index is built. Every month we pull Google Ads Keyword Planner data through the Google Ads API for Singapore (English, Google Search network). We seed each industry with its core service terms, then:

  • Collapse close variants. Keyword Planner often reports close variants (singular and plural, reordered words) with identical numbers. We count them once.
  • Drop navigational searches. Brand and company names are excluded, along with anything under 30 searches a month.
  • Report the top-of-page bid range (low and high) in SGD. Our headline “CPC” is the volume-weighted high end: what it typically takes to show above the organic results.
  • Probe restricted terms by exact match to record where Google withholds data or gives no bid estimate.

Top-of-page bids are Google’s forecasts, not any one advertiser’s actual cost per click. Quality Score, ad schedule, device and competition on the day move real CPCs above or below this range. Use the index to compare services and industries, not to set a single bid.

Because the index weights each keyword by search volume, and Google reports “math tuition singapore” at 60,500 searches a month with a high top-of-page bid of S$75.11. That single keyword pulls the tuition average to S$56.92. The median tuition keyword costs S$11.13.

Can a tuition centre say it is “MOE-approved”?

No. MOE says registered centres should only use the term “Registered with the Ministry of Education”. Implying government approval or endorsement also breaches Google’s misrepresentation policy.

Can I call my tuition business an “academy”?

Only if you are a registered school or have the Director-General’s written consent. Section 4A of the Education Act restricts “academy”, “college”, “school” and “university” in names and advertisements.
