Updated October 2026. Pest control is one of the more expensive home-service industries on Google in Singapore. Across 67 deduplicated keywords, the volume-weighted top-of-page bid is S$20.19, ranking #5 of 22 industries in the Singapore Google Ads CPC Index by Marketing Agency Singapore. Termites is the priciest pest this month, at S$38.19. It’s also one of the few trades where the law decides who may advertise at all.

The data comes straight from the Google Ads API (Keyword Planner, Singapore, English) and is refreshed every month. Below: what each pest costs to advertise, the most expensive searches, when demand peaks, and the NEA rules behind pest control ads.

Cockroaches 6 970 S$3.66–S$11.96 cockroach singapore
Mosquitoes 4 510 S$2.88–S$11.12 mosquito control singapore

Why the bids are high, and why termites lead:

  • Termite jobs are large and urgent. A termite infestation can mean structural damage, inspection, baiting and a multi-visit treatment plan. “termite control singapore” sits at S$57.40, several times the bid for “cockroach control singapore” (S$16.50).
  • Contracts behind the clicks. Many pest searches lead to recurring service contracts for homes, condos and food businesses, so the lifetime value of a customer is higher than the first job suggests.
  • A closed field. Only NEA-registered vector control operators may advertise as such (see below), which limits the bidders to licensed firms and lead-generation sites working for them.

What customers search vs what your ads can say

Pest control has a specific registration rule that goes to the heart of who can advertise:

What customers search vs what your ads can say — Pest Control Google Ads CPC in Singapore: October 2026 Data
  • Only registered operators may advertise. Section 24 of the Control of Vectors and Pesticides Act bars anyone from advertising or holding themselves out as a vector control operator unless registered as one. Under section 34 the penalty is a fine of up to S$20,000 and/or three months’ jail, rising to S$50,000 and/or six months for a repeat conviction. NEA states that “only companies registered with NEA as VCOs can be engaged to undertake vector control works.”
  • Product claims are regulated too. Section 5 bars advertising a pesticide as suitable for vector control, or a product as suitable for repelling vectors, unless it is registered under the Act.
  • Say “registered”, not “approved”. “NEA-registered Vector Control Operator” describes the status accurately. CCS’s guide on quality-related claims warns against mischaracterising a certification or approval.
  • No false need, no empty guarantees. The Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act lists false claims about the need for a service as unfair practices. The ASAS advertising code requires claims to be capable of substantiation and the period of any guarantee to be stated, which rules out unqualified “100% pest-free guaranteed” headlines.

For lead-generation sites, the practical risk is landing pages that imply the site itself does the work. This is a practitioner summary, not legal advice.

Ads vs SEO for a pest control company

If one firm ranked first organically for every keyword here, the clicks would be worth roughly S$36,701 a month in equivalent ad spend. With bids this high, organic visibility pays back quickly:

  • Google Ads for urgent, high-value pests. Termites, rats and bed bugs, geo-targeted, with treatment scope and re-treatment terms on the landing page.
  • SEO for identification and prevention searches. “Are these termites?”, droppings identification and prevention guides attract homeowners before they search for a contractor, and they’re cheaper to win organically than to buy.

Month-on-month changes

October 2026 is the first snapshot of this index. From next month this section shows which keywords got more or less expensive.

Methodology

How this index is built. Every month we pull Google Ads Keyword Planner data through the Google Ads API for Singapore (English, Google Search network). We seed each industry with its core service terms, then:

  • Collapse close variants. Keyword Planner often reports close variants (singular and plural, reordered words) with identical numbers. We count them once.
  • Drop navigational searches. Brand and company names are excluded, along with anything under 30 searches a month.
  • Report the top-of-page bid range (low and high) in SGD. Our headline “CPC” is the volume-weighted high end: what it typically takes to show above the organic results.
  • Probe restricted terms by exact match to record where Google withholds data or gives no bid estimate.

Top-of-page bids are Google’s forecasts, not any one advertiser’s actual cost per click. Quality Score, ad schedule, device and competition on the day move real CPCs above or below this range. Use the index to compare services and industries, not to set a single bid.
