Updated October 2026. Food is one of the cheapest industries to buy on Google in Singapore, and one of the biggest. Across 502 deduplicated F&B and catering keywords, the volume-weighted top-of-page bid is S$1.98. That ranks F&B #22 of 22 industries in Marketing Agency Singapore’s Singapore Google Ads CPC Index. Yet the tracked keywords drew 582,040 searches in September 2026, one of the largest volumes in the index. Clicks are cheap because food searches are often casual. A catering order for 80 people is a very different search from “restaurant singapore”, and the bids show it.
Data comes from the Google Ads API (Keyword Planner, Singapore, English), refreshed monthly. Below: cost by segment, the priciest searches, seasonality, and the food, halal, sugary-drink and alcohol rules that shape F&B ads.

F&B and catering CPC by segment
Keywords grouped by segment, with bids weighted by search volume.
| Treatment / service | Keywords | Searches / mo | Top-of-page bid (low–high) | Most-searched keyword |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Corporate & office | 1 | 140 | S$2.51–S$7.43 | corporate catering singapore |
| Cakes & delivery | 43 | 10,940 | S$1.02–S$4.02 | tingkat food delivery singapore |
| Events & weddings | 21 | 3,820 | S$1.02–S$3.64 | birthday cake delivery singapore |
| Bento & mini buffet | 34 | 7,500 | S$0.85–S$2.79 | mini buffet singapore |
| Catering searches (general) | 174 | 159,200 | S$0.46–S$2.07 | buffet singapore |
| Private chefs | 3 | 450 | S$0.79–S$1.73 | private chef singapore |
| Halal catering | 62 | 77,990 | S$0.28–S$1.56 | halal buffet singapore |
Catering is where the money is. “catering singapore” gets 8,100 searches a month at a high bid of S$3.99. “corporate catering singapore” is pricier at S$7.43, because one corporate account can mean repeat orders all year. At the other end, “restaurant singapore” gets 22,200 searches but bids only S$2.08. Diners discover restaurants through maps, reviews and social media, so few restaurants bid hard on generic search.

The top of the list is a mix of event catering, corporate catering and delivery-app searches. Even the priciest F&B terms cost less than a typical click in legal, finance or B2B software. That makes paid search one of the cheapest ways for a caterer to reach buyers who are ready to order. Food-delivery searches also appear in this list, so expect platforms to compete for some of the same terms.

F&B search demand by month
Total monthly searches for the tracked f&b & catering keywords. Peak: January 2026 (759,650); low: June 2026 (579,190).
Food searches swell towards year-end and around festive periods, when office parties, Christmas, Chinese New Year reunion meals, Hari Raya and Deepavali gatherings drive catering orders. Halal catering demand tends to rise around Hari Raya. Caterers should open festive menus and landing pages a few weeks before each peak, since corporate buyers often book early.
What diners search vs what your ads can say
| Searcher modifier | Keywords | Searches / mo | Avg high bid | Examples |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| “best” | 48 | 53,660 | S$2.01 | best buffet in singapore, best italian restaurant singapore, best chinese restaurant singapore |
| “top” | 8 | 19,710 | S$1.70 | top restaurants in singapore, top chinese restaurant singapore, roof top restaurant singapore |
| “cheapest / lowest price” | 1 | 70 | S$5.50 | cheapest food delivery app singapore |
| “most” | 1 | 390 | S$2.48 | most expensive restaurant in singapore |
| “premier / premium” | 5 | 440 | S$3.95 | premium buffet catering singapore, premium catering singapore, premium bento delivery singapore |
“Best buffet” and “top restaurant” are fine for F&B as long as they can be substantiated under the ASAS code. The tighter rules for food ads are about health, halal, sugary drinks, alcohol and price:

- No health or medical claims. Under the Food Regulations, reg 12 applies the reg 9 claim bans to food advertising. An ad must not claim that a food has therapeutic action, will prevent or cure a disease, or that health “or an improved physical condition” may be achieved by eating it. It also can’t give anything that “may be interpreted as advice of a medical nature”. “Detox”, “boosts immunity” and “good for diabetics” are the usual offenders. Nutrition claims such as “low in sugar” are allowed if they meet the criteria, which MOH and HPB have regulated since 2 May 2024.
- Nutri-Grade “D” drinks can’t be advertised. Reg 184F bars publishing any advertisement that promotes a Nutri-Grade beverage graded “D”. Freshly prepared drinks were brought in from 30 December 2023. This matters for bubble tea, coffee and juice outlets running Google, Meta or influencer ads.
- Halal. Using the Muis halal certification mark, or anything resembling it, without approval is an offence under section 88A(5) of the Administration of Muslim Law Act. It carries a fine of up to $10,000 and/or 12 months’ jail. Muis’s certification conditions for eating establishments (effective 1 December 2023) also bar advertising that misleads on halal status, or that claims premises outside the certified scope are halal-certified.
- Alcohol. The ASAS code’s alcohol appendix says anyone shown drinking should be obviously over 18. Ads must not encourage over-indulgence or link drinking to social success. Google allows alcohol ads in Singapore, but with restrictions. The ABV must appear on the landing page for drinks of 0.5% or more. Some formats, such as dynamic search ads, aren’t allowed. Remarketing and Customer Match can’t be used to promote alcohol.
- Prices. The SCAP says advertised prices should include GST where it applies. CCS’s price transparency guidance treats service charges as mandatory charges to include in the headline price or show prominently beside it. “$16++” needs the “++” explained next to it. A per-pax catering price should show its minimum order and delivery fee upfront.
Influencer food tastings and preview events need sponsorship disclosure under ASAS’s social-media guidelines, for example #adv, #sp or #sponsored. This is a practical summary, not legal advice.
Ads vs SEO for F&B and caterers
If one business ranked first organically for every keyword here, the clicks would be worth roughly S$187,417 a month in equivalent ad spend. That’s one of the largest totals in the index, because the volume is so large. For restaurants, the organic asset that matters most is the Google Business Profile: photos, menu, hours and reviews feed the map pack where most dining decisions happen. For caterers, ranked menu and pricing pages for “buffet catering”, “halal catering” and “corporate catering” capture the high-value orders. Paid search can then fill festive peaks cheaply.

Forecast CPCs run above today’s top-of-page range because they model an advertiser who outbids the field for the top position.

Methodology
How this index is built. Every month we pull Google Ads Keyword Planner data through the Google Ads API for Singapore (English, Google Search network). We seed each industry with its core service terms, then:
- Collapse close variants. Keyword Planner often reports close variants (singular and plural, reordered words) with identical numbers. We count them once.
- Drop navigational searches. Brand and company names are excluded, along with anything under 30 searches a month.
- Report the top-of-page bid range (low and high) in SGD. Our headline “CPC” is the volume-weighted high end: what it typically takes to show above the organic results.
- Probe restricted terms by exact match to record where Google withholds data or gives no bid estimate.
Top-of-page bids are Google’s forecasts, not any one advertiser’s actual cost per click. Quality Score, ad schedule, device and competition on the day move real CPCs above or below this range. Use the index to compare services and industries, not to set a single bid.

Why are F&B Google Ads clicks so cheap in Singapore?
Volume and intent. F&B searches are numerous and often casual, and most restaurant discovery happens on maps, reviews and social media, so fewer businesses bid hard. In October 2026 the industry averaged S$0.43–S$1.98, ranking #22 of the 22 industries we track. Catering terms cost more because each order is worth more.
Can a bubble tea shop run Google Ads?
Not for drinks graded Nutri-Grade “D”. Food Regulations reg 184F bars ads promoting “D” beverages, and freshly prepared drinks have been covered since 30 December 2023. Ads for lower-graded drinks, or for the outlet in general without promoting a “D” drink, are a different matter. Check each creative.
Can a restaurant say “halal” in its ads?
Only if it’s accurate and doesn’t imply certification you don’t hold. Using the Muis halal mark or a look-alike without approval is an offence carrying up to $10,000 and/or 12 months’ jail. Muis’s conditions also bar ads that mislead on halal status or extend it to uncertified premises.
